Now it’s time to add shelves. Screw two 1 x 2 boards into each side piece at whatever height you desire using 2″ screws. Drill pilot holes first here as well! Make sure all of your screws are flush with or slightly below the surface so they don’t catch on anything when you’re putting things in or taking things out of your media box later on down the road.
All that’s left to do now is finish your box by painting or staining it and adding a coat of polyurethane if desired. Let it dry completely before adding your movies, video games, and CDs!
