9.) DIY Wooden Cutting Board. (The Merrythought): This is such a handy kitchen tool to have and it’s really easy to make! All you need is one piece of hardwood (we used maple) and some food-safe mineral oil or beeswax. Once you’ve sanded your board smooth, just rub on the oil or wax with a clean cloth until the board is saturated. Let it dry overnight and then enjoy using your new cutting board!
9.) Wooden Doormat. (Merry Thought)
A doormat is a welcome addition to any home, and a wooden doormat is even better! This project is easy to make and only requires a few supplies. You’ll need some wood (we used pine), a jigsaw, sandpaper, paint or stain, and some hardware. Start by cutting your wood into boards. We cut ours into six pieces that were each 30″ long and 3-1/2″ wide. Next, use your jigsaw to cut out a design in the center of each board. We did a simple “X” design, but you can get creative here! Once your design is cut out, s and the edges smooth. Now it’s time to paint or stain your doormat. We chose to go with a white paint for our project, but you can use whatever color you like best. Let the paint dry completely before moving on to the next step. Finally, add some hardware to the back of each board so you can hang your doormat up easily. We used small nails and simply hammered them into place – super easy! Now all that’s left to do is hang up your new wooden doormat and enjoy!
17.) Monitor Stand
A monitor stand is a great way to save desk space and keep your computer screen at eye level. You can make a monitor stand out of wood that is easy to follow. Cut two pieces of wood that are the same length and width as your computer monitor. Place the pieces of wood on top of each other and drill four holes into the top piece of wood. Next, take four screws and screw them into the holes you just drilled. Make sure the screws are long enough to go through both pieces of wood. Finally, place your computer monitor on top of the stand and enjoy having more desk space!
19.) Book Tablet Holder
A simple and easy way to make a holder for your books or tablets is to use wood. You can either use recycled wood or new wood, depending on what you have available. If you are using recycled wood, make sure that it is clean and dry before you start working with it.
If you are using new wood, s and it down until it is smooth before beginning your project. Once the wood is prepped, decide how big you want your holder to be. Cut the pieces of wood to size using a saw or power drill with a saw blade attachment. If you want your holder to have a lip on the top so that books or tablets don’t slide off, cut a piece of cardboard or paper to size and glue it on to the top edge of the back piece of wood before attaching the front piece.
To assemble your holder, use glue or small nails/screws to attach the front and back pieces together at the sides and bottom. Allow the glue or nails/screws to dry completely before using your holder.
21.) Cutting Board
A cutting board is a necessary item for any kitchen. They come in various sizes and materials, but wooden cutting boards are a classic choice that will never go out of style. Wooden cutting boards are beautiful and durable, making them ideal for both everyday use and special occasions.
There are a few things to keep in mind when selecting a wooden cutting board. First, choose a board that is the right size for your needs. If you do a lot of cooking, you may want to invest in a larger board so you have plenty of space to prep food. If you only occasionally use your cutting board, a smaller one will suffice.
Next, consider the type of wood you want your cutting board to be made from. Hardwoods like maple or cherry are good choices for durability, while softer woods like bamboo may be more gentle on knives. If you’re not sure which type of wood to choose, ask your local kitchen store staff for advice.
Finally, think about how you will care for your wooden cutting board. Wood is an organic material and should be treated with respect; it’s best to avoid soaking it in water or putting it in the dishwasher as this can damage the wood over time. Instead, wipe it down with warm soapy water after each use and oil it regularly with mineral oil or beeswax to keep it looking its best..
23.) Decorative Sign
You can make a decorative sign out of wood that can be hung on the wall or placed on a shelf. This is a great way to add some personalization to your home décor. You can use any type of wood you like for this project, but we recommend using a thinner piece so it’s easier to work with. You will also need some paint, stencils, and other supplies to complete this project.
24.) Jewelry Holder.: A jewelry holder is a great way to organize your jewelry and keep it from getting tangled. You can make this project as simple or as elaborate as you like. We recommend using a thin piece of wood so it’s easy to work with and painting it your favorite color. Then, add some hooks or nails to the front so you can hang your necklaces, bracelets, and rings.
25.) Picture Frame.: A picture frame is a classic woodworking project that makes a great gift for friends and family members. You can use any type of wood you like for this project, but we recommend using something sturdy like oak or maple. If you want to get really creative, you can add embellishments such as carving or painting details on to the frame before giving it as a gift.
