Advent Calendar. 1 13
Advent calendars are a special way to countdown the days until Christmas. Each day, a new door is opened to reveal a small treat or trinket. This tradition is believed to have started in Germany in the 19 t h century, and has since become popular around the world.
There are many different ways to make an advent calendar. Some people use store-bought calendars, while others prefer to DIY their own. If you’re feeling crafty, here’s how you can make your own wooden advent calendar:
1. Start by finding a piece of wood that is large enough to fit all of your desired trinkets. You can find wood at your local hardware store or online. Once you have your piece of wood, s and it down so that it’s smooth.
2. Next, decide how you want to divide up the Advent calendar into days. You can do this by creating small slots in the wood (one for each day), or by painting numbers directly on to the wood surface.
3. Once you’ve divided up the days, it’s time to add your trinkets! Place one trinket into each slot or space, making sure that they’re evenly distributed throughout the calendar. You could use anything from candy to small toys as your trinkets – it’s up to you!
4. To finish off your Advent calendar, add a festive touch with some ribbon or twine. Hang it up in a prominent place in your home so that everyone can enjoy counting down the days until Christmas!

DIY Birch Vase. 3 13
Making your own Birch Vase is a great way to add a natural and rustic touch to your home décor. This project is easy to do and only requires a few supplies that you likely already have on hand.
Gather your supplies. For this project, you will need: 1-2 birch logs, depending on the size of vase you want; a drill; a saw; sandpaper; twine or rope; and a hot glue gun. You can find birch logs at your local craft store, or gather them yourself if you have access to a wooded area. Choose logs that are relatively straight and free of any major knots or blemishes.
Cut your logs into sections. Using the saw, cut the birch logs into sections that are about 4-6 inches tall. The number of sections you need will depend on the size of vase you want to make – for example, two sections will be enough for a small vase, while four or five may be necessary for a larger one. Sand down the edges of each log section until they are smooth.
Drill holes in the bottom of each log section. Place each log section upside down on a flat surface and use the drill to create two small holes in the bottom center of each one – these will be used later to thread the twine through so that all of the pieces can be attached together. If desired, also drill drainage holes in the bottom sides of each piece so that water can easily drain out when necessary (this step is optional).

2. Cut the wood into thin slices using the saw. The thickness of the slices will depend on how big you want your ornament to be.
3. Sand down the edges of each slice to make them smooth.
Card Holder. 6 13
A card holder is a small, usually rectangular box that is used to store and organize cards. Card holders come in a variety of sizes and styles, and can be made from different materials such as wood, plastic, or metal. They typically have a lid that opens to reveal compartments for storing cards, and may also have a handle or strap for easy carrying.
Card holders are an ideal way to keep your cards organized and protected from wear and tear. They can be used to store credit cards, gift cards, business cards, ID cards, membership cards, discount cards, etc. Card holders can also be personalized with your name or initials to make them unique gifts or keepsakes.
When choosing a card holder, it is important to consider the material it is made from as well as the size and style. You will also want to make sure that the holder has enough compartments to accommodate all of yourcards. If you plan on using the holder for travel purposes, you may want one that has a strap or handle so you can easily carry it with you.
Wood Wreath. 7 13
A wood wreath is a decorative wreath made from wood shavings or chips. It is a popular decoration for homes, offices, and businesses during the holiday season. A wood wreath can be made from any type of wood, but pine is the most common type used.
To make a wood wreath, start by cutting two circular pieces of plywood or particle board that are slightly larger than the desired size of your finished wreath. Next, use a saw to cut evenly spaced notches around the edge of one piece of plywood. Then, fit the two pieces together so that the notched piece fits into the other like a puzzle and glue them together. Once dry, s and down any rough edges and paint or stain your wreath as desired. Finally, use hot glue to attach ribbon or other decorations before hanging up your finished product!
Nativity. 8 13
The Nativity of Jesus, also known as the birth of Christ, is a holiday commemorating the birth of Jesus Christ. The date of the Nativity is not known, and historians place it between late November and early December, in keeping with the date of the Winter Solstice. December 25 was chosen as the date for Christmas because it was already a popular pagan holiday celebrating the winter solstice.
The earliest references to a nativity scene come from 13 t h century France and Italy. The first recorded nativity scene was set up in 1223 by St. Francis of Assisi in Greccio, Italy. Francis had been inspired by a story from the Bible in which Abraham sets up a similar scene to entertain some traveling angels (Genesis 18:1-8).
The popularity of nativity scenes spread throughout Europe, and by the 16 t h century they were being made in Germany as well. Eventually, nativity scenes made their way to America with German immigrants who settled in Pennsylvania.”Nativity” comes from the Latin word “nativitas” which means “birth.” A traditional nativity scene includes figures representing baby Jesus, Mary his mother, Joseph her husband (sometimes called “the foster father”), shepherds, sheep or other animals,, kings or magi bearing gifts,, and an angel proclaiming “Glory to God in highest heaven!” (Luke 2:14).
Some modern additions to nativity scenes include Santa Claus,, elves,, reindeer,, snowmen,, and even Darth Vader!
