Once your bin is full, water it well so that it’s damp but not soggy; too much water will cause the material to rot instead of breaking down. Now all you need to do is wait! The heat generated by decomposing organic matter will cause the contents of your bin to break down very quickly; finished hot compost can be ready in just a few weeks’ time.
